Dear large Company,
My name is Jomana Alaidi and I want to complain about a package that was supposed to be delivered a while ago. I made an order on your website one month from now and the shipping normally takes around 1 to 2 weeks, however I have still not received it yet for some reason. I have been a loyal customer for quite some time, and I love your products. I am sure that this is a mistake and I hope you look into my problem and fix it. Thank you for your time.
Buy Nothing Day:
1. I agree, many of us often buy more things than we actually need. Personally, my family spends most of their money on necessities such as food and gas. We get groceries once a week and go clothes shopping once or twice a month depending on our need. While that might not sound like much, on the day we actually get stuff, we go a bit overboard. We get things that we want but don't need.
2. I think we sometimes we feel pressured to buy things we don't need for survival because the environment we're living in can impact our choices. For example, when you see everyone in your school wearing a certain type of shoes or brand, you'll instantly want to buy them to become like everyone else and not feel left out. Therefore, peer pressure plays a big role for sure.
3. Another factor that affects us a lot are commercials and ads we see that trick us into buying things we already have telling us they're "better" or "more advanced". They would sometimes use celebrities to advertise their products which makes it way harder for consumers to resist.
4. In my opinion, our culture and media encourage us to buy things constantly because they want to gain more money by making us spend everything, we've got without noticing how bad of an impact that may have on the environment and everything around us which is a very selfish thing to do.
5. Buy Nothing Day is definitely an event worth observing because it is a great way to detox ourselves from consumerism, save money and become more mindful of the impact we're having on the world.
